Tellwut is a survey site with a twist. In addition to paid surveys from 3rd party companies, they allow their members to create and take "community" surveys for points. Tellwut is a great program for anyone who enjoys taking and making surveys, and wants to be part of a community.

Ways to Earn

A Paid Survey Site, With A Twist

In some ways, Tellwut is a similar to your average paid survey site: They aggregate a bunch of surveys and reward you with points for completing them. Those points can then be used to cash out for gift cards through their Rewards Center.

What sets Tellwut apart from other sites are its community features: Users can make their own surveys and take surveys created by other community members. While they don’t pay as many points as the traditional “external” surveys, the community is surprisingly engaged and it makes the “survey grind” a lot more enjoyable.

Let’s look deeper at the primary ways you can earn points on the Tellwut platform.

“External” Surveys Pay The Most

What Tellwut calls external surveys are surveys that are fed in to their system through other 3rd-party research companies. Your experience with these surveys will be familiar if you’ve been active at other survey sites (many of them use the same survey providers).

After you complete the sign-up process you’ll find these paid surveys under the “Available Surveys” and “Live Rewards” sections. Tellwut does their best to match you to surveys that are a good fit for you based on your demographic information.

Before taking a survey, you can see how many points it pays, how long it will take, and whether or not it’s available on mobile.

The average payout is around 50 points, but some pay much more--up to several hundred points per complete.

You’re not quitting your day job, but if you’re selective with the surveys you complete, you can make steady, consistent progress toward your first cash out.

Community Surveys Are Unique and Easy, But Low-Paying

Creating and taking community surveys is the second way you can earn points. This is what makes Tellwut unique, since these surveys are proprietary to their platform and aren’t pulled from the popular survey routers that feed other sites.

Using their tool, you can create a “Single Question Survey” or a “Multi-Question Survey”. And those are just what they sound like–you can ask one question or several at once. If your survey is approved, others will be able to complete it. You’ll also get up to 20 points for your efforts.

That goes for answering these surveys as well. They don’t pay much–usually the equivelant of less than $0.10–and sometimes they don’t pay at all. But that’s not really the point. Tellwut has an active community of other users who like making and taking these surveys, and for many the points they earn from community surveys is secondary. Keep in mind, however, that these are community generated surveys, so you’ll get a lot of surveys that aren’t professionally done and clearly have an agenda.

Political surveys are popular with the community, for better or worse.

Other Ways To Earn Points

While surveys are the primary way you earn points, there are a few other ways points are awarded as well:

  • Referrals. For every person you refer, you’ll receive 25 points. Once that person completes an External Survey, you’ll receive an additional 400 points.

  • Giveaways. Every week a drawing is held and the winner receives 4000 points. Every External Survey you complete during that week equates to one entry.

  • Daily Questions. A short, simple survey is available to complete everyday. It’s easy, but generally only pays 10 points.

Getting Started With Tellwut

Getting going with Tellwut is easy. Infact, you can earn up to 250 points just by completing the sign-up process. Here’s how:

250 points for signing-up? Easy peasy.

  • Step 1: Visit Tellwut and create an account (it’s free). After you confirm your email address, you’ll get 100 points.

  • Step 2: Add your Shipping Info and you’ll get another 25 points.

  • Step 3: Fill out your profile and get another 50 points.

  • Step 4: Select your interests for another 100 points.

Don’t worry about memorizing these steps, once you join you’ll be taken through this process. All told it takes about five minutes to join–and you’ll get a cool 250 points.

How You’re Paid

Earn Points, Get Gift Cards

Major brand gift cards are available.

Points can be used to purchase gift cards under the “Rewards” section of the Tellwut website. The cheapest gift cards cost 4000 points and are worth $10. A range of gift cards are available, including Amazon, PayPal, and Visa. This means your points can effectively be exchanged for cash, even if you’re not receiving a physical check.

While most gift cards can be emailed to you, your first gift card must be sent to a physical mailbox. This is a simple anti-fraud measure to make sure you’re a real person with a single account. Orders are processed within 21 business days of the request.

Tellwut Has A Solid Track Record

It's safe to say Tellwut is *not* a scam. They’ve generally received positive reviews across all platforms, and have been (provably) paying users for several years. While they’re not accredited with the BBB, they currently have the best possible rating and show zero customer complaints.

User Reviews

Good for a change of pace

I like Tellwut because it has a lot of surveys and they are usually on interesting topics. I also like that you can make your own surveys. The community surveys don't pay much, but that's not why I use the site. Sometimes surveys disqualify you without paying you, which is annoying, but that's not new.

ok

i recently discovered this site and its pretty good. you can get gift cards without too much work. the site is sometimes to hard to figure out and support is a litle slow, but otherwise it is good.

comments get removed

BEWARE that the moderators remove comments at random.. your suppose to give your feedback on surveys but no one there cares.

A Great Program, If You Like Surveys

There’s a ton of paid survey sites out there, and many of which are nearly identical. While Tellwut shares some of these characteristics, their built-in community and custom survey features make it a unique program that's sure to appeal to anyone who genuinely enjoys taking and making surveys (while earning an extra bit of cash!)

We give Tellwut a very solid 4.5/5.
