The first day of spring is Tuesday, March 20th.
Do March showers bring April flowers? That answer depends on where you live. In northern areas, some of us are still getting snow showers in late March. So in this case, the answer is no. Snow will not make flowers grow, lol.
In areas a bit further south, flowers may be starting to bloom or have bloomed already. The further south you go, the earlier temperatures warm up. That is, to a point. Go below the equator and keep going a ways down and you may find cooler temperatures in places like Australia and South America. Why?
Seasons in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres are the opposite of one another. When it is spring in the USA, it is autumn in countries below the equator. Seasons change because the tilt of Earth’s axis changes.
If you move far enough south, winter would begin in June! That might take some getting used to. In the USA, we think of things like hitting the beach and going swimming in June, not wearing a hat and a heavy coat. Go far enough south though (think Antarctica) and you’ll be wearing a heavy coat year round.
Well, there’s a little science of the seasons. From another viewpoint though, a lot of us simply look forward to more sunshine and warmer days after a long cold winter. From all of us at CashCrate, have a happy spring!
