St. Patrick’s Day is Friday, March 17th. It’s a time to celebrate Irish-American culture and makes us think of spring. Many communities hold festivities including parades, performances, concerts, parties, and more. What are your plans for the day?
Wearing green is one thing you may want add to the list. Put on a green shirt, a green pair of pants, or even a green hat or jacket. If you don’t wear green, you run the risk of getting pinched. Ireland is known as the Emerald Island and there is stripe of green on the Irish flag. The tradition of pinching may be a way to say shame on you for not wearing green.
Shamrocks and clovers are associated with St. Patrick’s Day and they are also green. A four leaf clover is a very lucky thing, so perhaps wearing green is too. Is not getting pinched on St. Patrick’s Day a lucky thing too?
Check your communities for local events on St. Patrick’s Day. Maybe you can catch a parade, go out for a nice meal, or grab a green beer. In a pinch (bad pun) you can grab a Shamrock Shake at McDonald’s. You can even earn some extra green by completing surveys on CashCrate.
Whatever you decide to do, Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Make it your lucky day!
