Summer is the time to get outdoors and have fun. What do you enjoy doing?
Cook outs: Get family and friends together and fire up the grill. Enjoy some great food and conversation.
Camping: Want to get away from it all? Camping can help you escape the stresses of everyday life.
Hiking is another way to get away. Enjoy the beauty of nature. It can also be combined with camping if you’re hiking with a tent and other necessary supplies.
Fishing: Put your hook in the water and try to catch dinner. Fishing is relaxing and can be combined with camping and hiking.
Summer Sports include baseball, golf, volleyball, tennis, basketball, soccer, surfing, skateboarding, and more. Have fun and get some exercise. If you don’t play a summer sport, maybe this is the year to give it a try!
Swimming is considered a sport, but for many of us, it’s a way to cool off and have fun. Will you be hitting any beaches this year?
Get the bicycle out. Instead of driving short distances, get on the bike instead. This is another great way to get some exercise.
Playing outside: After a long winter, kids want to get outside! Kick a ball around the yard. Play back yard baseball with a plastic bat and wiffle ball. Run through a sprinkler. Blow some bubbles. There are lots of fun things to do outside!
Arts and Crafts: Have a little one who likes to paint? That can be a very messy indoor activity. Set up paints and paper outside and let the kids go to town. They can let their creativity run wild and your carpets don’t get paint stains.
Fun Family Stuff: Go out for ice cream or listen for the ice cream truck. Many cities and towns have seasonal ice cream stands that open only during the warmer months. Go to a local fair or another local outdoor event. Play a game of miniature golf or have a family go kart race.
