The first day of autumn is Thursday, September 22. Shorter days and colder temperatures are around the corner. It’s also a great time to find things on sale.
Fall is the time for summer clearance! Retailers put many summer items on sale. You can find things like shorts, bathing suits, beach towels, sandals, flip flops, pool toys, etc. at big discounts. Stores want to get rid of these items and make room for fall, winter, and holiday items (like Halloween and then Christmas).
Outdoor items may be discounted too. Have you been thinking of getting a new propane or charcoal grill for those backyard parties? How about some nice outdoor furniture? Lawn chairs and picnic tables may be on sale too.
It’s also a great time to pick up some gardening items. Tools like trowels and hedge clippers can often be found for less. Perennial plants too. Many greenhouses and major retailers like Lowes and Home Depot slash prices as the days start to get a bit chillier. A lot of perennials can be planted until the ground freezes, so you have more than enough time to get them in the ground. While you won’t enjoy perennials much this year, you’ll enjoy them in next year’s gardens at a much lower price.
Fall is a great time to buy lawn mowers too. I bought a lawnmower several years ago in late September or October and got it for 50% off. It’s still going strong. Look for other landscaping necessities too like weed trimmers, tillers, wheelbarrows, and any other outdoor items you may need.
We know you’re all here at CashCrate to make money, but saving money is a good thing too. It’s great finding something on sale!
