Happy Father's Day, June 19th

The first Father's Day celebration took place on July 5, 1908 in West Virginia. In 1910, another Father's Day event was held in Spokane, Washington. The holiday really didn’t take off until 1966, when President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation. President Richard Nixon signed it into law in 1972, finally making Father’s Day an officially recognized holiday.

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 19, 2016. It’s Dad’s special day! Father’s Day occurs annually, on the third Sunday in June. What do you and your family do to celebrate? Is an ugly tie on the gift list? Maybe a tool like a wrench? A golf club or something for the grill? Father’s Day is a great day to thank dads for all they do.
