Getting Disqualified from a Survey: Why it Happens

Getting disqualified from a survey can be frustrating. Sometimes, the survey simply wasn’t a good match. At other times though, it may be possible to avoid a disqualification. Let’s look at some of the most common reasons for getting disqualified:

Demographics: Each survey looks for specific demographics such as interests, tastes, occupation, location, etc. The survey providers want people who best match those demographic requirements to complete the survey.

Demographic requirements vary from survey to survey. If you are disqualified from one survey, just try another. You can keep trying until you find a survey you are qualified to complete. Also, be sure to complete the CashCrate Profile if you haven’t already and continue to answer questions in the Profiler Bar when it appears at the top of the screen. Doing so can help match you to more surveys and reduce disqualifications.

Inconsistency: Inconsistent answers can get you booted out of a survey. Sometimes a survey will ask the same question more than once. For example, let’s say you are asked about your car. At the beginning of the survey, you say you drive a Ford. At the end of the survey, you say you drive a Chevy. This inconsistent answer could disqualify you. Be sure to pay attention.

Control Questions: Surveys may ask control type questions for quality purposes. As an example, you might see a question like: “Select the Very Important option from this row.” If you select something other than the Very Important option, you will probably be disqualified.

Rushing: Completing a survey too quickly can also cause a disqualification. If you’re rushing through a survey at 100 miles an hour just trying to reach the end, a survey provider may assume that you’re not providing thoughtful answers. Rushing too quickly can also cause inconsistent answers or cause you to miss a control question (both of which can disqualify you). Take your time, read each question, and provide quality answers.

    From CashCrate: Unfortunately this can happen if a survey has already closed to your specific demographics, but is still open to others. As new surveys continue to come out, hopefully you will qualify for more.
