Fall Back: Set the Clocks Back One Hour on November 2ndPosted in Announcements by CashCrate Dana
If you live in an area that observes Daylight Savings Time, don't forget to set your clocks back one hour on Saturday before you go to bed. Daylight Savings Time officially ends at 2:00 AM Sunday, November 2nd.
It's time to "fall back." This time of year, daylight gets shorter and the nights arrive sooner. Maybe it's a sign that winter is coming soon. It's also a good time to check the batteries in your smoke alarms, and it may be a good idea to replace them.
Yeah, Yeah. Many of us have heard that spiel. We see it on the news and on other TV shows. It's really a good idea though. Working smoke alarms help ensure the safety of you and your family. If you have a carbon monoxide detector, check that too.
Furnaces will be coming on in many areas of the country, if they haven't already. As daylight dwindles, the days and nights become colder. When is the last time you looked at your furnace? How long has it been since you changed your furnace filter? Furnace filters help keep the indoor air cleaner during the winter months. A dirty worn out filter can decrease the efficiency of your furnace, and end up costing you more in heating bills.
For people who live in snowy winter climates, it might not be a bad idea to start the snow blower up if you own one. Make sure the snow shovels are accessible too. That way, you'll be a bit more prepared when the first winter storm hits.
Changing the clocks is really a great reminder to practice safety around the home. We've all heard it before, but just a reminder from your friends at CashCrate.
Oh, and the good thing: You get an extra hour to sleep when you set the clocks back lol.
