Memorial Day and Veterans Day both pay tribute our military members, but there are some differences. One is obvious: Memorial Day is celebrated on the last Monday in May and Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11th. But what are the other differences?
Memorial Day honors military members who died serving and defending our country. Veterans Day is a tribute to all who have served in the military. While it is nice to have two days set aside for those who have served, shouldn’t we appreciate our veterans and active military every day?
Those in the military and their families make many sacrifices. Entire families may move from one state to another when a mom or dad is transferred to a different base. They might even move overseas. Deployments can keep families apart for several months at a time, even longer. A father may miss the birth of his son or daughter. A mom might miss her child’s first day of kindergarten or another special event.
Veterans Day is an important day to pay tribute and it is an important holiday. So is Memorial Day. We have many veterans, active military and military family members here at CashCrate. We appreciate everything you do and thank you for choosing CashCrate as your place to make extra money.
Have a wonderful Veterans Day. You deserve it.
