It’s back to school time already: A sad time for kids and a happy time for parents. At least that’s how the saying goes. The fun days of swimming, eating ice cream, and playing with friends go by so fast, much faster than a Social Studies or English Class. Being outside, enjoying the water, having fun in the sun: It’s something most of us have enjoyed.
Preparing for the new school year is important, though it may not be the funnest experience. Kids would much rather try on a new pair of pants at the mall than go swimming, right? Kindergarten and Elementary age kids live for buying pencils, erasers, notebooks, and new socks at Walmart, right? They have a blast.
Any parent can tell I’m being totally sarcastic. Back to school time can be a tough transition for kids. Sometimes they feel like they’re giving up the fun and freedom of vacation for a structured classroom environment. I’m certainly not knocking school. It’s essential. School prepares us to become adults and to lead productive lives and all that stuff, but young kids see the here and now and live more in the moment it seems.
Maybe you can think back to when you were a kid, and how you felt when summer was coming to an end. Do you remember when Mom or Dad dragged you away from your friends and made you go to the store to shop for new school clothes and school supplies?
Keep the shopping trips as short as possible lol. Better yet, maybe do some shopping online? CashCrate has an Online Shopping Page, you’ll get cash back on those back to school purchases, and you won’t have to drag the kids to the mall.
